Obama Obfuscations

obamanocchioHere are my brief thoughts on Barack Obama's speech on Syria on the eve of 9/11.

Obama said:

In that time, America's worked with allies to provide humanitarian support, to help  the moderate opposition, and to shape a political settlement, but I have resisted calls for military action because we cannot resolve someone else's civil war through force, particularly after a decade of war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mr. Obama, when it comes to the Syrian rebels, they are anything but moderate. And when it comes to fighting someone else's civil war, you did so in Libya.

Speaking on chemical weapons, Mr. Obama said:

Because these weapons can kill on a mass scale, with no distinction between soldier and infant, the civilized world has spent a century working to ban them.

My comment to that is, killing babies with gas is unacceptable, however abortion, even with the baby out of the womb, is just fine with you.

Twice he called America a democracy, even describing us as "the world's oldest constitutional democracy." To be exact Mr. Constitutional Professor, we are a constitutional republic.

Mr. Obama later said:

I believe that America acts more effectively abroad when we stand together .

You didn’t believe that when Bush was President and we were at war.

He then patronizes Americans with this statement:

It's no wonder then that you're asking hard questions.

Mr. Obama, these are not hard questions. They are logical and legitimate. Okay, for you that makes them hard. Carry on!

Then speaking on pinpricks, Mr. Obama said:

Let me make something clear: The United States military doesn't do pinpricks. Even a limited strike will send a message to Assad that no other nation can deliver.

Mr. Obama, I can think of at least 8 NATO allies, plus France, who are capable of doing limited and targeted strikes.

Next was this doozy of a statement:

We learned from Iraq that doing so makes us responsible for all that comes next.

Not to mention Egypt and Libya, which you didn’t mention.

Next comes his plea for bipartisanship:

To my friends on the left, I ask you to reconcile your belief in freedom and dignity for all people with those images of children writhing in pain and going still on a cold hospital floor, for sometimes resolutions and statements of condemnation are simply not enough.

I don’t think they really care about that. Remember they support full and unfettered abortion.

And just one last appeal for the children:

America is not the world's policeman. Terrible things happen across the globe, and it is beyond our means to right every wrong, but when with modest effort and risk we can stop children from being gassed to death and thereby make our own children safer over the long run, I believe we should act.

The most dangerous place in America for our children is in its mother’s womb. Syria is the least of their problems.

So while I did not watch Mr. Obama's speech (I'm 0 for how many ever speeches he's given), I did read it and was nonplussed and underwhelmed by his, or his speechwriters', words.

A Pastor’s Perspective – Part 3: Tired of Carrots

In this segment we look at the question of voting for Mitt Romney as a way to stop Barack Obama and the quadrennial argument of voting for the lesser of two evils because the Supreme Court is up for grabs.

If you  know Bro Dennis he definitely had an answer for both of these arguments.

Give a listen and please share:

Bro Dennis Part 3

In Part 4 we tackle the argument that this election is all about the economy.

Drudging Up The Old While Obscuring The New

Here's my take on the supposed explosive "never before seen" video released by Tucker Carlson on his website and discussed on FOXNews' Hannity:

Watching Hannity and Tucker Carlson. They are so over-the-top trying to make the Obama video the October surprise.

It's not as bad as they're trying to hype it. It looks like two white guys acting all bent outta shape about black people acting black in a black church. I'm afraid this is gonna totally backfire and help Obama.

What was the big news story tearing Obama a new backside this week? Libya and the cover-up. Even the MSM was actually reporting on it. Now they get to change the dialogue to this non-story of how the conservative media is desperately dredging up old news. Hannity has blown it. Ditto Tucker Carlson. If I'm Obama's team I'm high fiving about now.

The conservative media are hyping this video because they're desperately trying to save Romney's campaign. Obama has spent the last year in the campaign mode doing all the divisiveness that Hannity and Carlson were hyperventilating about. I would have never released this unless it was the very last resort and Romney had no chance of winning.

One day conservatives will learn how to win at political combat by not chasing the bright shiny thing.

After the confetti is gone…

...what now? What do we do when the reality of our choices settle in?

This week we will have to endure the lies and hypocrisy of the Left and its lapdog media.

But how do we make sound judgments when it comes to voting for our elected representatives?

We tackle this subject in the current The Truth Newsletter.

Team Obama in the panic mode

Oh yes, Team Obama is in the full panic mode. Check this email I just got from them:

Obama - Biden
David --

Today, just 72 hours after joining the GOP ticket, Paul Ryan is making a pilgrimage to the Sands' Venetian casino in Las Vegas to kiss the ring of Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire casino magnate who's already donated more than $35 million to Republican groups in this election.

That's the same Sheldon Adelson who gave $15 million to help Newt Gingrich against Mitt Romney in the primary, and said he may give $100 million -- basically, whatever it costs -- to defeat Barack Obama.

We're starting to get a glimpse of how Romney plans to cash in on his vice presidential pick. Before Ryan's even been fully introduced to the American people, he's attending a private fundraiser in Vegas with the top super PAC donor.

We're doing this differently, with ordinary people chipping in whatever they can afford -- but it's going to take a lot more of us to match them. Will you donate $3 or more today?

Are the Dems Rope-A-Dopin’ the GOP?

The Democrats are adding a new plank to their platform, one that is seemingly an election night loser. They are proposing to endorse same-sex marriage in their upcoming 2012 Democratic Party Platform. Writing in the Daily Beast Eleanor Clift reports that for the committee this was a no-brainer.

Either Democrats are stupid, ideologically-attached to gay marriage, or something else is up.

The outcry from African-American churches and the fact proponents for same-sex marriage legalization are 0 for 31 on ballot initiatives makes this a large risk in November for President Obama and Democrat candidates.

Unless the Democratic Party has no intention of approving this plank.

The Democratic Nominating Convention follows a few days after the GOP convention and coronation of Mitt Romney as their candidate. Now for Republicans, with a large part of their base being evangelical values voters, this a winning issue to run against.

Therein lies the problem. If the GOP comes out strong against the Dems plank, which they should but only time will tell, or if the media pushes them into the national debate, then the GOP will be rightfully aligned against gay marriage.

But come September 6 and the Democrats leave Charlotte with or without the gay marriage plank in place, and the help of the Obama Press Corps, aka mainstream media, the gay marriage plank can become an election day issue.

And then the October surprise can be unleashed. The Obama campaign will be able to easily show the hypocrisy of Mitt Romney and the GOP for nominating the Father of Gay Marriage in Massachusetts.

They will be able to show from the very words of Goodrich vs. the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that the Massachusetts Supreme Court ordered the state legislature, NOT Mitt Romney, to legalize same-sex marriage. They will also be able to show that the legislature ignored the court's ruling and that then Governor Mitt Romney illegally ordered marriage license applications to be changed from "Husband" and "Wife" to "Party A" and "Party B." They will also be able to easily counter Romney's defense of saying he was following the orders of the court when the court recognized it had no power to enforce its own ruling.

Why will they be able to do this so easily? Because documented proof has been available for six years at MassResistance.org. Not only that, but every major Christian and conservative organization, and GOP establishment types have been made abundantly aware of these facts. I have personally been privy to many of the emails.

In fact, the primary source of those emails, Gregg Jackson, co-authored a book with radio host Steve Deace titled "We Won't Get Fooled Again: Where the Christian Right Went Wrong and How to Make America Right Again," which outlines not only this sad chapter but others too.

Again I could be wrong about the Dems having this up their sleeve, but do you really believe the Obama War Machine is completely ignorant of this information?

What better way to suppress conservative evangelical votes than this October surprise?

Only time will tell.

If Romney wins the nomination…

...he will lose to Obama in the general election.

Here is a very important point to remember folks. The information that I have tried (and for the most part failed) to share with conservatives is Mitt Romney's record as governor. I've been called a Mormon bigot, among other things.

Here is a guarantee: if Romney wins the nomination you can be sure that the Obama/Chicago Political Machine will expose everything about Romney's record, with the help of the MSM.

And believe this too, they will vet the Mormon religion in a way we wished they had vetted Obama's Pastor Jeremiah Wright. Romney is going to get creamed in the press, on the stump, and in the debates.
Obama will beat Romney easily by at least 5 percentage points. I predict Obama will win the following states against Willard: Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, D.C., Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin for a total of 325 electoral votes.

And even if Romney won his "home" states of Mass and Mich, Obama would still have 298 electoral votes.

You heard it here first folks!

Stay the Course

Thomas Paine

These past few days have been trying, no doubt. But a patriot long ago wrote that "these are the times that try men's souls." It was December 23, 1776 and the essay, or pamphlet was titled "The Crisis" written by Thomas Paine. If you've never read this brilliant piece, do so because when you feel like giving up because of anger, despair, frustration and/or pessimism, we have to decide what price we are willing to pay for liberty.

Most of you know that my son Sergeant Eddie Jeffers paid the price, as President Abraham Lincoln said at the Gettysburg Address, "the last full measure." Eddie at times felt like giving up; he even wrote about in his article "Freedom Feels Good":

But more than anyone, I sometimes see futility in my actions. I fight, I kill, I scar myself emotionally, psychologically, and in some ways physically...and as I lay in the dark at night, I wonder what it's for. I wonder if the Iraqi people will ever get it together or if the country will collapse on itself whether I am here or not. It makes me angry, and a big part of me is content to let it fall apart. Part of me doesn't care what happens to this God-forsaken city after I leave it...as long as “me and my boys” make it out in one piece.

But that is the viewpoint of a man who wishes his actions to be in vain. I do not. I have lost very close friends over here. I don't want their lives to have been given in vain. Simply put, we are fighters. We are all in the same place for various reasons, for me, it's personal. I am in a modern day crusade to exterminate evil. People whose atrocities I cannot even begin to name cannot be allowed to exist among us. As long as these people are here, everything that is just and good is at risk.

I get as mad as the next person over our side not fighting the good fight, the strong fight, fighting in a manner I was never allowed to while in the Army or my son would have never entertained in combat.

And then I remember that those, for the most part, serving in Congress are not our military...not even close. They have the luxury of compromise, bipartisanship, winning the media war, and whatever else excuse they come up with to justify their weaknesses.

But I cannot dwell on that; it is a distraction. I need to keep focused on ensuring that we continue to fight the statists in the White House and the Democrat Party. I need to keep focused on continuing to scourge the Republican Party of the RINOs in leadership and those so quickly willing to "cross the aisle" to work in a bipartisanship manner...with the statists.

Patriots, we need to continue to elect men like Marco Rubio who refused to vote for the languid legislation some are still trying to tell us was a good bill.

And be there no doubt that many in the ruling class of the GOP would love for us to stomp our feet and take our toys home. You see, many of the Rockefeller Republicans are perfectly comfortable being in the minority because then they can "vote on principle" knowing their vote will not change the outcome but give them top cover. That is the height of political cowardice and those are the politicians who should no longer be representing WE the People.

So, now that a few days have passed, let's take some glass cleaner to our looking glasses and be ever vigilant of Capitol Hill and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

We do not let up the pressure.

We do not take our eye off the objective.

We cannot be "summer soldiers" or "sunshine patriots" that "shrink from the service of [our] country."

We must and can stay the course.

Our very liberty is at stake...
